  • Basic website interaction information

OwnBot uses analytics in aggregated or de-identified form and does not intentionally use analytics information to identify individual visitors.

However, third-party analytics providers may process technical identifiers as part of operating their services.

Information processed by hosted bots

When OwnBot hosts a customer’s bot, the bot may collect, process, or store information required for its features.

Depending on the project, this may include:

  • Discord user IDs

  • Server configuration
  • Command usage
  • Logs
  • Messages or message content
  • Moderation records
  • Economy balances

  • Database records
  • Other information required by the specific bot

The exact information collected depends on the customer’s requested features and the bot’s configuration.

OwnBot may have access to this information because OwnBot controls or maintains the hosting server.

They are not currently automatically forwarded to:

  • Email
  • Discord
  • A spreadsheet
  • A customer relationship management system
  • A separate OwnBot database

Tally processes submitted information under its own privacy practices and service terms.

4. How Information Is Shared

OwnBot may share information with service providers when reasonably necessary to operate the service.

These providers may include:

  • Tally
  • Payment processors
  • Cloudflare
  • Website hosting providers
  • VPS or server-hosting providers
  • Email or communication providers
  • Database or storage providers
  • Analytics providers
  • Other technical service providers used for a specific project

These providers may process information only as part of providing their services to OwnBot, subject to their own policies and agreements.

  • Respond to payment disputes

Business changes

If OwnBot is sold, merged, reorganized, or transferred, relevant records may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Customer Responsibility for Bot Data

Customers are responsible for deciding what information their bot should collect and how it should be used.

A customer may be responsible for:

  • Providing a privacy notice for their bot
  • Informing server members about data collection
  • Obtaining consent where required
  • Selecting appropriate retention periods
  • Responding to user privacy requests
  • Moderating user-generated content
  • Complying with Discord’s rules
  • Complying with applicable privacy and data-protection laws

When a customer owns or operates a delivered bot, the customer generally controls the bot’s data practices unless OwnBot separately agrees to manage them through hosting or another service.

OwnBot is not responsible for a customer’s unlawful instructions, configuration, use, or collection of data.

6. Data Retention

OwnBot keeps information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

Tally form submissions may be retained for purposes including:

  • Evaluating requests

There is no automatic deletion schedule for Tally submissions.

OwnBot may delete older submissions at its discretion when they are no longer useful or necessary.

Hosted bot data

Hosted bot data may be retained for as long as the hosting service remains active or as otherwise needed to operate the bot.

After hosting ends, OwnBot may delete:

  • Bot databases
  • Logs
  • Backups
  • Configuration files
  • Uploaded content
  • Other hosted data

Customers should request and preserve any data they need before hosting ends.

OwnBot does not guarantee indefinite retention of hosted data after cancellation or termination.

Legal and business records

OwnBot may retain certain records longer where reasonably necessary for:

  • Tax or accounting purposes
  • Payment records
  • Fraud prevention
  • Contract enforcement
  • Chargebacks
  • Legal claims

7. Data Deletion Requests

You may ask OwnBot to delete information you previously submitted.

OwnBot will make reasonable efforts to delete information that it controls, unless retention is reasonably necessary for:

  • An active project
  • Completing a transaction
  • Maintaining financial records
  • Responding to a dispute
  • Preventing fraud
  • Enforcing an agreement
  • Complying with law
  • Protecting legal rights

Some information may remain temporarily in backups or systems operated by third-party providers.

A deletion request does not require OwnBot to delete information that must legally or reasonably be retained.

8. Data Security

OwnBot uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information.

However, no website, server, database, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

OwnBot does not guarantee that information will never be:

  • Accessed without authorization
  • Lost
  • Exposed

  • Intercepted
  • Compromised by a security incident

Customers are responsible for protecting their own:

  • Passwords

11. Children’s Privacy

OwnBot’s purchasing services are intended for people who are at least 18 years old.

Anyone under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian place the order, accept the applicable agreements, and make payment.

OwnBot does not knowingly invite children under 13 to submit personal information.

If OwnBot learns that personal information was submitted by a child in a way that should not have occurred, OwnBot may delete the information.

12. Third-Party Websites and Services

The OwnBot website or hosted bots may link to third-party websites, platforms, or services.

OwnBot is not responsible for the privacy practices, security, content, or policies of those third parties.

You should review the privacy policies of any third-party service you use.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

OwnBot may update this Privacy Policy as the website, services, providers, or legal requirements change.
