OwnBot is an independent service and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Discord Inc.
1. Information OwnBot Collects
The information OwnBot collects depends on how you interact with the service.
Information submitted through the quote request form
OwnBot uses Tally to collect project and quote requests.
The form may collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your Discord username
- Where the bot will be used
- Information about your server, community, business, or intended use
- The expected number of users
- Requested bot features and functionality
- Examples, links, references, or other bots
- Optional uploaded files
- Features you consider required
- Features you consider optional or nice to have
- Your hosting preference
- Your budget range
- Your desired completion deadline
- Any other information you choose to provide
You should not submit sensitive personal information unless it is genuinely necessary for your request.
Communications
OwnBot may collect information you provide through Discord, email, support channels, payment communications, or other official communication methods.
This may include:
- Messages
- Project requirements
- Feedback
- Approval decisions
- Support requests
- Billing questions
- Files or attachments
- Information needed to complete or support your project
Payment information
Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor.
The payment processor may collect information such as:
- Your name

OwnBot does not directly store complete payment-card details.
The payment processor handles payment information according to its own terms and privacy practices.
Website analytics and technical information
The OwnBot website currently uses Cloudflare Analytics and may use other analytics providers in the future.
Analytics providers may automatically receive technical information such as:
- IP address
- Browser type
- Device type
- Operating system
- Referring page
- Pages visited
- Approximate location
- Visit time and duration
- Basic website interaction information
OwnBot uses analytics in aggregated or de-identified form and does not intentionally use analytics information to identify individual visitors.
However, third-party analytics providers may process technical identifiers as part of operating their services.
Information processed by hosted bots
When OwnBot hosts a customer’s bot, the bot may collect, process, or store information required for its features.
Depending on the project, this may include:
- Discord user IDs
- Discord server IDs
- Channel IDs
- Role IDs
- Usernames or display names
- Bot settings
- Server configuration
- Command usage
- Logs
- Messages or message content
- Moderation records
- Economy balances
- User-generated content

- Other information required by the specific bot
The exact information collected depends on the customer’s requested features and the bot’s configuration.
OwnBot may have access to this information because OwnBot controls or maintains the hosting server.
2. How OwnBot Uses Information
OwnBot may use information to:

- Decide whether OwnBot can accept a project
- Prepare quotes
- Communicate with prospective and current customers
- Plan, develop, test, and deliver custom bots
- Process payments
- Provide hosting
- Operate hosted bots

3. Tally Form Submissions
Quote request submissions are stored by Tally and viewed by OwnBot through Tally.
They are not currently automatically forwarded to:
- Discord
- A spreadsheet
- A customer relationship management system
- A separate OwnBot database
Tally processes submitted information under its own privacy practices and service terms.
4. How Information Is Shared
OwnBot may share information with service providers when reasonably necessary to operate the service.
These providers may include:
- Tally
- Payment processors
- Cloudflare
- Website hosting providers
- VPS or server-hosting providers
- Email or communication providers
- Database or storage providers
- Analytics providers
- Other technical service providers used for a specific project
These providers may process information only as part of providing their services to OwnBot, subject to their own policies and agreements.
Hosting providers
When OwnBot hosts a bot on a VPS or similar server, the hosting provider may store or process information located on that server.
The hosting provider may also have infrastructure-level access to:
- Bot files
- Databases
- Logs
- Backups
- Server traffic
- Technical metadata
OwnBot may use providers such as Netcup or another similar hosting provider.
Legal and safety disclosures
OwnBot may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with law
- Respond to a valid legal request
- Enforce OwnBot’s agreements
- Investigate fraud or abuse
- Protect OwnBot, its customers, users, or the public
- Address security incidents
- Protect legal rights
- Respond to payment disputes
Business changes
If OwnBot is sold, merged, reorganized, or transferred, relevant records may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Customer Responsibility for Bot Data
Customers are responsible for deciding what information their bot should collect and how it should be used.
A customer may be responsible for:
- Providing a privacy notice for their bot
- Informing server members about data collection
- Obtaining consent where required
- Selecting appropriate retention periods
- Responding to user privacy requests
- Moderating user-generated content
- Complying with Discord’s rules
- Complying with applicable privacy and data-protection laws
When a customer owns or operates a delivered bot, the customer generally controls the bot’s data practices unless OwnBot separately agrees to manage them through hosting or another service.
OwnBot is not responsible for a customer’s unlawful instructions, configuration, use, or collection of data.
6. Data Retention
OwnBot keeps information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
Tally form submissions may be retained for purposes including:
- Evaluating requests
- Communicating with prospective customers
- Completing projects
- Supporting active customers
- Maintaining business records
- Resolving disputes
- Preventing fraud
- Responding to legal claims
There is no automatic deletion schedule for Tally submissions.
OwnBot may delete older submissions at its discretion when they are no longer useful or necessary.
Hosted bot data
Hosted bot data may be retained for as long as the hosting service remains active or as otherwise needed to operate the bot.
After hosting ends, OwnBot may delete:
- Bot databases
- Logs
- Backups
- Configuration files
- Uploaded content
- Other hosted data
Customers should request and preserve any data they need before hosting ends.
OwnBot does not guarantee indefinite retention of hosted data after cancellation or termination.
Legal and business records
OwnBot may retain certain records longer where reasonably necessary for:
- Tax or accounting purposes
- Payment records
- Fraud prevention
- Contract enforcement
- Chargebacks
- Legal claims
- Compliance obligations
7. Data Deletion Requests
You may ask OwnBot to delete information you previously submitted.
OwnBot will make reasonable efforts to delete information that it controls, unless retention is reasonably necessary for:
- An active project
- Completing a transaction
- Maintaining financial records
- Responding to a dispute
- Preventing fraud
- Enforcing an agreement
- Complying with law
- Protecting legal rights
Some information may remain temporarily in backups or systems operated by third-party providers.
A deletion request does not require OwnBot to delete information that must legally or reasonably be retained.
8. Data Security
OwnBot uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information.
However, no website, server, database, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
OwnBot does not guarantee that information will never be:
- Accessed without authorization
- Lost
- Exposed
- Altered
- Deleted
- Misused
- Intercepted
- Compromised by a security incident
Customers are responsible for protecting their own:
- Passwords
- Discord bot tokens
- API keys
- Server credentials
- Source code
- Account access
- Database exports
If you believe information or credentials have been exposed, contact OwnBot promptly through an official communication channel.
9. Cookies and Similar Technologies
OwnBot or its service providers may use cookies, local storage, scripts, or similar technologies to:
- Deliver the website
- Protect the website
- Measure traffic

The exact technologies used may change as the website and service develop.

OwnBot’s purchasing services are intended for people who are at least 18 years old.
Anyone under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian place the order, accept the applicable agreements, and make payment.
OwnBot does not knowingly invite children under 13 to submit personal information.
If OwnBot learns that personal information was submitted by a child in a way that should not have occurred, OwnBot may delete the information.
12. Third-Party Websites and Services
The OwnBot website or hosted bots may link to third-party websites, platforms, or services.
OwnBot is not responsible for the privacy practices, security, content, or policies of those third parties.
You should review the privacy policies of any third-party service you use.

OwnBot may update this Privacy Policy as the website, services, providers, or legal requirements change.
The updated policy will show a revised effective date.
